Ressurection

A dead blog has no viewers, contributers, commenters. It is a waste of a server's space and should be removed. Thankfully for this blog, it is being ressurected. I have been to the other side, passed many trials and have come out ready, not only ready but equipped, for long term missions.

This will not just be a blog, documenting my experiences, but a free space of expression, the first outlet of my writing and my connection with you, let me bring you in, read me.

This is a small collection of poetry and theory written on my DTS in ASIA:

As a child of 24, what insights can I gather from my childish thoughts?
I can only offer embryonic knowledge;

- Pacifism is incomplete without a measure for protection of others, for while
sacrificing yourself may be noble and even indicative of a greater inner strength,
doing nothing while the helpless are abused does not follow the same principle.

- To love is to do anything you can for another, whoever it may be, but in this, the doing is meaningless while the desire to do so is everything, for love is the
desire that leads to the action.

- Religion is an ugly institution that capitalizes on a beautiful truth.

- Spirituality is a combination of mental orientation and something else definate,
mysterious and inexplicable, but the element of mental orientation should not
be underestimated.

Construction of Creation

This is it, what are you waiting for? you are here and you are alive,
have you not heard me say that this is it? Go now, be, be for I have
made you to be and I have set you here so that others might be, I have
told you before, this is what life is, but still you wait for something
more, still you wonder when you will be ready, when will you ever be ready?

I tell you now, never.
But I am ready NOW and I am in you, now go, be, in my name.

Inner Mongolia

Waves of desert ocean crash on through the arid nation,

my silent mind cannot help but compare, that an this tender age and in transition
my life lays out before me in a far more vast, far more daunting, and far more
devoid spanse, these blank pages branching out in more directions
than the sand I traverse.

Battle Cry

Have you ever been insulted?

Has anyone ever torn the clothes from
your body to gamble them away?

Have you ever been hurt?

Have you ever been whipped? deep wounds
gorging through your back?

Have you ever been humiliated?

Have you ever been hung up naked for
thousands to see? Spat on, cursed at,
defied and mocked, abandoned by your
closest friends?

Have you ever waited, and waited, while
the bowels of hollow times try the patience
of your heart?

For how many millenia have you been waiting,
how long have you been patiently longing for the
people you see to turn their eyes, turn their hearts?

Have you ever been excited?

Have you ever had a child, who has never spoken
to you, never even looked at you, a child who has
defied you every day of their life, turn slowly from
the shoulder of one of your humble servants and finally,
finally look upon you, their eyes lit up with wonder,
with love, have you ever felt that embrace?

How long will you wait, what will you endure, to what
lengths will you go and what love will you give for
our fathers lost sheep?

Heaven Sent

Where is up, where is down?
and am I still here on earth?

Reason plays no part in matters of the heart.

This is a small amount of writing, much more is to come but will be shared as my story unfolds. It has been two years, I have worked for a church, I have done intense fundraising and been blessed beyond my wildest dreams by generous strangers, I have completed my Discipleship Training School in Hong Kong, and I am now ready Mexico, God willing, I'll be coming home.

JJB's First Steps

Greetings noble friend and web traveller, welcome to my home.
I am Joel Bryant and at 22 years, I have committed myself to the world of missions. During this summer of 2009 while serving here in Ensenada, Mexico for Youth With A Mission (YWAM) God has blessed me with a vision for the campus’s short term mission programs and a passion to fulfill it. In faith I will follow the calling I have been given without hesitation and with great anticipation for what God will do through me. Exciting!
After completing a Discipleship Training School in September of 2010 I will be committing a minimum of two years to this vision. I look forward to all of the hundreds of projects and house builds completed by short term missions teams here in Ensenada that are sure to touch the lives of the local community. I k60
Thank you for reading and God bless.
